Mike Tyson

 

Mike Tyson, full name Michael Gerard Tyson born  on June 30, 1966, is a retired professional boxer from the United States. 

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in history and was known for his ferocious punching power, speed, and intimidating presence inside the ring.

Tyson's professional boxing career spanned from 1985 to 2005. He became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at the age of 20 when he defeated Trevor Berbick in 1986. 

Tyson's aggressive fighting style and knockout power made him a dominant force in the heavyweight division during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Tyson possessed extraordinary punching power and had a high knockout percentage. 

He won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round.

Tyson became the undisputed heavyweight champion in 1987 by unifying the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles. 

He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold all three major belts.

Tyson achieved a professional record of 50 wins, with 44 of those victories coming by knockout. 

He had 6 losses and 2 no contests during his career.

Some of Tyson's most memorable fights include his bouts against Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, and Frank Bruno. 

However, his most famous and controversial fight was against Evander Holyfield in 1997, where Tyson infamously bit off a piece of Holyfield's ear and was disqualified.

Tyson's life outside the ring has been marked by various ups and downs. 

He faced legal troubles, including a conviction for rape in 1992, which led to his imprisonment from 1992 to 1995. 

Tyson has been open about his struggles with substance abuse and personal challenges.

After retiring from professional boxing in 2005, Tyson has remained involved in the sport in various capacities. 

He has made occasional comebacks for exhibition fights and has also pursued other ventures, including acting, business, and a successful podcast called "Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson."
