  Penguins are a group of flightless birds that are highly adapted to life in the water.  They are known for their distinctive appearance, with a stocky body, short wings, and webbed feet.  Penguins are found primarily in the Southern Hemisphere, especially in Antarctica, although some species also inhabit temperate regions such as South Africa, South America, and New Zealand.
